One on One Athletic Club
Racquetball League Rules and Regulations

Schedules:

Are available as soon as leagues are set. Temporary schedules are available the day before league play begins. Permanent schedules should be available sometime during the first or second week of play. No one will be allowed into any league session after the second week of play. The Racquetball Director will contact you for your first scheduled match either by phone or e-mail.

Rules:

Official USAR rules will apply. A printable shorter version is available here (Word doc). Note:  If the ball leaves the court through or touches the netting of the gallery section, it is a side out.  In other words, the offending player loses the rally.

Each match shall begin On Time, with a maximum warm-up of 5 minutes.  If a player is late, games shall be forfeited one at a time after each 15 minute interval.  Players may replay game 1 only if games 2 and 3 have been finished first and there is time left in the hour.  If game 1 is then started and not completed before the end of the hour, it reverts back to a forfeit.

Service:

Players will "lag" for choice of first serve or to receive in the first game.  Game 2 is alternated and Game 3 will be first served by the player with the most total points in the first 2 games.

Hinder/Screen on Serve:

Scoring:

Scoring is done by total points and no points are awarded for the win.  Example:  Player A has 15 points and Player B has 11 points.  The recorded score for the game is 15-11.  Each game is over when one player reaches 15 (you do not have to win by 2 points).

The winner of the match (most total points) is responsible for recording the scores.  Each player is responsible for checking accuracy. For NO SHOWS write "No-Show" by the opponents name in the score book.  If a player cancels the match and it does not get made up, write "cancelled" by the players name who canceled so I know who gets awarded the 45 points.  If it is left blank, each player gets "0" points. (See below for "No Show" policy)

Make-Up Policy

If a player cannot make a scheduled match:
  1. Call you opponent to cancel and reschedule an alternative match and check if they still want to use the court.  Make-up matches should happen within 2 weeks or notify the Racquetball Director that you need an extension.  Exception - see Last Week of Play below.
  2. Call One on One AC (761-4440) and cancel the court if the opponent is not going to use it.
  3. Call One on One AC and reserve a court for the agreed upon time for the make-up match.
Matches should be made up within 2 weeks time of the scheduled dates.  Exceptions will be considered by the Racquetball Director and should be discussed as soon as possible.  If a match is not made up, the player canceling will lose by a score of 45-0.

Last Week of Play

For League Schedules (only) that have #1 vs #2, #3 vs #4, etc. on the last week: Seeds will be determined by total points 1 week before the last week.  You must have all your games played by the 9th week in preparation for the final week.

No Shows:

This is the worst thing that can happen in this league = Don't do it!  Two No Shows and the offending player will be excused from the league and may be prohibited from participating in future leagues.
