Junior Summer Racquetball Camp

Roberts Racquetball Academy is limited to 6 junior players per session.
All Roberts Racquetball Academy camps are designed to create a positive
learning environment in which players can grow their sport skills and build
self-esteem. Comitted to sportsmanship and excellence, RRA's founder and
instructor, touring professional Andy Roberts, is dedicated to helping each
camp participant achieve their goals of becoming a champion - on and off
the court.
Each participant will experience a balanced mix of group and individual
instruction. Daily matches with other participants allows the instructor
to measure each junior's progress. By improving helping each participants
game and providing positive reinforcement, your junior will return from
this camp with the attitude and understanding of racquetball strategies
necessary to win!
As part of the camp package, juniors will be videotaped and taught
to analyze their own performance as well as their opponent's. Each player
will receive a journal to detail their goals, acheivements and experiences
during the camp. And all participants receive an assortment of camp apparel
and equipment.
The cost per player is $950.00. This fee includes lodging, meals, transportation
to and from the airport, court fees and all social activities. The fee does
not cover air fare to and from Memphis. Lodging will be at the Robert's
home with 24 hour adult supervision.

ARR Player Requirements
All players must be a member in good standing of the USRA
Players must provide basic gear including racquet, court
shoes, eye guards and appropriate court apparel.
Eye guards must be worn at all times on the court.
NOTE: Discipline problems will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate
behavior will result in immediate expulsion and the child will be sent home.
Any expenses reulting from this action will be the responsibility of the parent(s).
Important Information
Roberts Racquetball Academy is the official junior camp
of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT).
Roberts Racquetball Academy is endorsed by the United States
Racquetball Association (USRA).
Insurance for each participant is provided by the USRA.
Roberts Racquetball Academy usually offers two sessions
each summer during the second and fourth weeks in July.
A typical Camp Schedule consists of:

Day 1 - Afternoon player arrivals, introductions, distribution
of Academy apparel and equipment; cookout dinner.

Day 2 - Overview of camp activities followed by workouts,
drills and scrimmagematches; afternoon performance camp recap.

Day 3 - Group instruction with individual ability assessments,
matches with on-court coaching to follow

Day 4 - Classroom discussion of progress; question
& answer, group workout/drills; afternoon matches with on-court coaching

Day 5 - Group instruction and a "building your
mental game" seminar; afternoon social activity

Day 6 - Motivated physical workout and scrimmage matches;
afternoon focused on serve and return drills

Day 7 Team building seminar and playing to win; evening
exhibition by camp players for club members

Day 8 - Players return home in the morning
